About

Forest Calling

ForestCalling Action was created to save tropical forests and put an end to deforestation. It was following a meeting between John Galloula and Andria Ranaivoson in Madagascar that ForestCalling Action was born, on January 20, 2020.

They imagined that they could buy up endangered rainforests, in order to turn them into reserves. All this through a principle of traceable, participatory financing. For them, this solution was the most beneficial, the most impactful and the quickest way to preserve the environment and combat global warming. It was when they realized that all this was possible that they heard the call of the forest and began they adventure.

Their first programs are located in Madagascar, where 44% of the tropical forest has disappeared over the last 60 years, and where in 2017, 510,000 hectares of forest were destroyed according to Global Forest Wacth Madagascar is the second richest country in the world in terms of primate diversity, and one of the most important and interesting, not least because of its high rate of endemism in both animal and plant species. It boasts some 15,000 plant species, 83% of which are endemic.
